HOMEOWNER'S WELCOME

Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in Microtopping®. If you are currently renovating your property or are involved in an exciting building project, our Microtopping® offers you a fabulously contemporary and sophisticated decorative finish, whether it be for your interior floors or walls, or external areas such as a patio.

Applied manually, Microtopping® can be customised to a high degree, in colour, tonal variations, texture and finish, to tie in with your chosen decoration style and aesthetic. Visit our gallery to see some of the many projects that have been carried out in homes around the UK.

Key features of Microtopping

With a thickness of around 2mm, Microtopping® is often the only practical solution for existing floors, or for floors with underfloor heating. You will not need to adjust existing skirting boards or doors. Microtopping’s non-slip properties also make it an excellent alternative to tiles in your kitchen and bathrooms and its seamless finish simplifies cleaning and maintenance, with no issues relating to grout.

Choosing your aesthetic

The beauty of Microtopping® is its bespoke aesthetic which can be personalised to your specific taste. We consider the photographs in our gallery, our online catalogue and our European Microtopping website an excellent starting point as they will provide you with a good understanding of the possibilities of Microtopping® as well as the more popular choices. The important thing always to remember is that you are selecting an overall style of aesthetic because the hand-applied nature of Microtopping® will mean that every floor and every wall is different.

How we can help

To ensure the very best results for our customers, Ideal Work has invested significantly in the provision of training to UK installers. We will be pleased to put you in touch with a contractor working in your area as well as advise on the likely cost of installation. Alternatively, if you prefer your own contractor to install the Microtopping®, we are pleased to provide support and advice throughout the process.

Together with the contractor, you will agree the final aesthetic and we will liaise with you and the contractor to provide all necessary assistance. We are also always available to answer any technical or practical questions you may have.

If you would like to find out more about how to achieve this wonderful addition to your home, please call us on 01273 471524 or email us on info@idealworkuk.com.

Some technical information

Microtopping® is made by mixing water-based polymers, together with cement-based components. The special liquid polymer is mixed with Microtopping® Base Coat (which contains larger granules for strength and for creating differing aesthetics), followed by a choice of two versions of the Microtopping® Finish Coat, containing finer particles for a semi-smooth or perfectly smooth finish. Sealed with one of our Ideal Work high quality sealers, the result is a protective, highly resistant material with many of the aesthetic characteristics of  polished concrete.

Eco matters

At Ideal work we care about the environment and are proud of our A+ certification (UNI EN ISO 1600-9:2006)  which means that our water based polymers are entirely free from volatile organic compounds (VOC). In addition, Microtopping® powder are manufactured with more than 25% recycled material.

Ideal Work is a member of the Green Building Council of Italy which aims to promote environmental responsibility, economic and social, innovating the way in which buildings are designed, manufactured, and used.
